Exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the All-Union Pioneer Organization creation in the USSR. It covers the process of origin and stages of the organization development from the beginning of the 20s to the end of the 80s of the twentieth century. The exhibition includes propaganda posters, works of fine art, graphics and sculpture.
At Krasnaya Presnya district in February 1922, at the factory school at the former Mashistov printing house, young activist Mikhail Stremyakov created the first pioneer detachment. The official date of birth of the organization is May 19, 1922, when the resolution "Children's Movement" was adopted at the second conference of the RKSM (Russian Communist Youth Union). From the very beginning, the All-Union Pioneer Organization has become the unique platform for gathering real enthusiasts. Thanks to the public initiative, the huge infrastructure of childhood has been created in the country at the very fast pace: pioneer camps, pioneer palaces, film studios for children's and youth films, children's literature publishing houses and much more.
Center of the exhibition - "Pioneer Room" introduces visitors to the historical reconstruction of the typical pioneer room, the history of the creation of the movement, the attributes of the organization. Other sections tell about the fight against homelessness, about the conditions of the pioneer origin after the end of the Civil War in Russia and its first steps, the origins of the involvement of the Soviet children in the organization, activities during the Great Patriotic War, in the era of Space exploration.
The exhibition presents paintings, posters, and postcards with scenes from the life of young Leninists, series of pioneer heroes portraits, as well as sculpture, tableware, aircraft models. Among the exhibits, there are the pioneer ties, badges, drums from different countries, banners, for example, gift to Yuri Gagarin from the pioneers of the secondary school No. 14 in Mytishchi.
